A quick…simple Sunday!

IMG_4199

Now this is as simple as it gets and I am going to share with you a template "how to" so you can go back and make this over and over! This is a fabulous layout to make not only "quantities of" but also a great layout for small stamp images!

This image is from the Endless Wishes Stamp Set and I am so glad that Stampin' Up!! brought this back this year. I love the font, but I also love the fact that you can use it for chocolates….hmmmmm……pop back on Tuesday and you will see what I am talking about!

136829G

Let's get going as this is one that you will want to CASE and keep the handy template handy! It all starts with the Note-Card Whisper White Card & Envelopes (I just love this size) and I highly suggest that you make a template so you can "pencil line" the squares!

IMG_4188

Let's make the template! Below you will see that I made it in a wisteria wonder so I could find it easier in my work area…so easy – lets go!

  1. Start with a piece of paper that is the same size as the Note Card  = 5" X 3 1/2"
  2. Find the center and make a pencil line = 2 1/2" line
  3. Take the 1" Square Punch and make the center your 1st punch using the pencil line as your giude. Slide the punch all the way in to meet the edge of the paper.
  4. Punch the sides lining up the outer edge of the punch to the side of the paper, this way your punches will be even!
  5. Now take the template pack to your cutter and trim off a smidge – 1/8" off of each side so your end result will be a template of PRESTO…DONE!!!now you have a template that is 4 3/4" X 3 1/4"

Hopefully these below pictures will help you! Please email me of you have any questions, I know that sometimes it is hard to put it into words but once you try it – I hope it makes sense!

IMG_4182

IMG_4181

Now that your template is completed, I simply place it over the front of my note card and take a pencil and quickly make my pencil squares so when I go to do my stampin', it will be perfect!

Stamp away and then simply erase your pencil lines before putting the top piece on! Make sure that you use a bunch of Stampin' Dimensionals on this top piece – (it is a great card to use those outer edges of the dimensionals as they are the long and skinny pieces!!!)

IMG_4183

You might be thinking, Why do I need to make a template if I still have to punch the top part? Well, I find having a template makes if easy to just get right to the stampin part and also if you have a random pencil lines on the edges, it no biggie!

You also might want to make the top piece a different color and wouldn't it be fun to run it through the Big Shot with a simple embossing folder? Hmmmm…..sounds like a possibility!

IMG_4185

I knew that I wanted to keep this a super simple card for you, but I also knew that adding a very simple touch of thin stripes of paper would be all that is needed!

In the picture above you can see that I used the silicone mat…they are a must have and while you are at it – get 2….as I find that if one has glue on it, I go to the other one especially if I am making a bunch of cards!

Why do I love this mat = I use the green glue for these strips and this makes it super easy for straight placement…I always make the strips longer than I need to make it easy on myself. You can pick them right up from the mat and then snip them off!

IMG_4192

FUN and DONE….one great card that is timeless and will never let you down! Just look at your stamps sets that you have and start doing the happy dance when you see one that has small images…..

IMG_4196

Lastly, the fabulous envelope! I did stamp the front with the sentiment and snowflakes (which was so easy because of the stamps being photoploymer) and then I lined the outer flap with the fun paper from the Santa & Company….so quick and easy!

I hope that these tips and tricks that I shared with you made not only sense…but also inspired you to go to your work area and make a template! You can easily use the same formula for using a regular A-2 card.

I realize that your time is precious and I thank you for popping in! Please feel free to email me if I can be of help and also remember that you can shop away from home in your jammies for these products that I have used today!

Tomorrow is make it mine Monday….hope to see you back!

p.s. – guess what I am doing today? I wish that we could all be together for this fun……I am going to Jeanie's house as her 2 sisters are here from Massachusetts and we are going to be 4 stampin…crazy….fun ladies!

Sounds like a dream day…..right!?!?! – I hope that there is a football game on for her poor husband to watch as there is going to be a bunch of laughter and creativity happening!

BOO and Blog Candy Time!!!

Happy Halloween…now tell me, what would Halloween be

without some "Blog Candy"

for my dear and wonderful cyber friends!

Images

I am excited about this card as it is something that I have been "itchin" to do….have you ever seen a card that someone made and you could not get it out of your mind? Well…this is what has inspired me today!

You have heard me talk about the fabluous PALS all the time and PAL Linda Callahan made the below card and I just adored it (actually I adore Linda's work…one talented lady!) and I could not let the Halloween season go past without giving it a stamp!

IMG_0009

Well here is my take on it and I just adore this super fun stamp set – appropriately called Tee-Hee-Hee!

IMG_4047

Another quick and easy card that carries a big punch! I just let the boldness of the paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Pack be my backdrop for the fun! I just love these packs of paper….so handy….so affordable!

IMG_4053

Because you can see right thru these stamps….perfect placemet is a cinch everytime! I took Linda's lead and used the in colors of Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss and Tangelo Twist!

IMG_4056

Do you see the Hello Honey accents on the sides of the stamping? This is a quick and easy trick to do….just a simple 1/4" strip of paper added an extra pop of color and gave balance!

IMG_4057

Lastly, a quick liner to the back flap of the envelope finished this festive card! I adore mixing it up with liners to the outside and also to the inside using the envelope framelit! Mixing it up keeps things fresh and fun!

Simple works for me…

IMG_4028

Simple works for me…how about you?

This card is super-duper cute even though that the pictures do not do it justice. I adore it…why? It came together in a snap…it uses minimal product…you get to heat emboss (which is always fun) and it is super cute!

The card size is a notecard and I am super happy that Stampin' Up! has come out with these in crumb cake….now all we need is for them to come out with them in Very Vanilla! (my fingers are crossed)

IMG_4039

The stamp set is Festival of Trees and wowzers – this has been a huge hit this year! Simple works….and I was happy with the end result. I stamped the Mossy Meadow on scraps of Very Vanilla and then did simple POPS with dimensionals!

IMG_4044

After stamping the trees, I pulled out the versa mark and then used the gold embossing powder to give it a bit of pizzazz. ( I am sorry that the pictures did not come out great – they really are pretty but the pictures to me, look like the embossing is blurry)

IMG_4040

If you follow my blog ( and I sure hope you do), you know that I am "bow challenged"…I will go through hoops to figure out how to add a bit of fru-fru….."my way"….I like what I did….it works!

I laid a simple bow that was made out of the gold bakers twine and then made a simple knot from the in color mossy meadow satin stitched ribbon!

IMG_4037

I lined the outer flap of the envelope with the mossy meadow in color DSP stack! You all know that I love these and would never be without them! I just love that they come in all color collections so you always know that you will find a perfect option!

IMG_4034

Remember, tomorrow is the last day for you to get this sentiment stamp set, Good Greetings. It is just adorable and I do hope that SU continues to come out with more stamps in this font!

135017G

With an order or event of $300.00, you will receive this free along with $50.00 worth of free product! This is a woot-woot all around!

Please feel free to email me to let me help you set goals and also to talk about the free paper for 6 months! Each and everyday I feel so lucky to be able to do what I do, it would be great to have you to! The PALS are the best and making a difference by touch so many is the BEST way to wake up each and everyday!

Until tomorrow!

“Yee-haw”…it’s Monday!

IMG_3974

Wow…it is the last week of the month…darn is that calendar rolling and rolling! Today I am mailing out all of my "Treats"… no tricks to my "young friends" in college….everyone loves a care-package and even if they are older, my "peeps" love some love from home! I will share with you my goodies that I sent in another post!

Monday is the personal challenge that many of you look soooo forward to and here you go! Below is a sketch and I hope that you have fun with it! If you would like to share with me your "take" on the sketch, please email me….I always love to see your work!

Sketch 3

There is no envelope today as this cute and simple card is getting "hand delivered" to a special little guy that is turning 4 tomorrow with some soft and yummy Chocolate Chip Cookies and a little container of milk (he loves the cardboard milk cartons with a straw)….he is so darn tootin' cute and he is going to be a Cowboy for Halloween so I thought that this would be perfect!

IMG_3977

This was a fun card to make…I just simply pulled the stamp set out and let my mind wander! The burlap ribbon was left out on my work space so I thought….why not and it worked! Because of the thickness of the ribbon, I did put stampin dimensionals just on the right side of the Soft Suede piece to make it even!

IMG_3980

Don't we have the best punches….the circle punches made this so easy to pull together! Remember my tip, try to build up your punch inventory as you will be so happy with the time they save you…simply make a wish list and add a punch to every order and in no time, you will be a "Stampin' Up! Punch Princess"

IMG_3978

Because this card was so simple and quick (just like I like it)…I added dashes, dots and dashes and dots! I just mixed it all up and I liked the end result!

IMG_3981

The stamp set is called "Yee-haw" and I just love it! I know that it is a bit different but you can really make it work for many card and gift ideas! If you missed a post before when I used this set, please click here – it is also a fun and differnt way to use the stamp set and other Stampin' Up! products!

How about giving this sketch a try! I truly do believe that trying to work with a sketch will help you develop a style that "is YOU" and then making cards will become easier and easier!

Please do not forget the the DSP free paper pack each month for the next 6 months will end on Friday! Please email me and I would love to chat with you to help you see that taking a test drive with Stampin' up! and being a part of my team would not only be super fun…but it will be rewarding for you!

Thanks for sharing a part of your day with me! Have a fabulous day and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow! Please share my blog with your family and friends….I love being a part of Stampin' Up! and I adore helping you reach your goals!

It's a great journey and I would love for you to be on it with me!

A great card…for so many occasions!

IMG_3746

Plan "B" – this is not the post that I was going to share with you today but I think that you will enjoy this card…this to me is a "keeper" – when I say that I mean….look at the design and then let you imagination go….you can do it – I know you can!

I had a friend that is needing some love and I whipped this up and sent it her way! I was super happy with it but I must say…I was inspired by a fellow PAL and someone that I totally love and admire in many ways, Shannon Jarramillo from EZPeasy Cards!

I think that if we lived closer – we would get nothing accomplished as  we are "Peas in a Pod" and I love her work…well actually there is another Pea in our Pod but that is for a later post!

IMG_3745

You can click here and see where the inspiration for my card today came from! She is clean and simple to the max and wow….such a great person! It was a joy to meet her this past Spring when we went to a training with Mary Fish. We could talk day and nght…..it was a treat to meet and be with her!

The stamp sets that I used to day were Summer Silhouette and A Dozen Thoughts…..both "keepers" in my books and the colors I used were Old Olive, Blackberry Bliss and Crushed Curry!

IMG_3748

I hope that you will put this card design in your "keeper" to do list and use it however you see fit! This was not only a super quick card to pull together but it is a fun card to change up the colors and DSP with!

Remember…the timeglass is over for the opportunity to get a pack of free DSP fpr the next 6 months….email me and I would love to pave out a path for you!

I am sorry for such a short post but honestly…..I left my charger at John's office (and I am at 5% power now) as I was hostng a Stamp Camp yesterday with Jeanie ( it WAS SOOOO FUN!!!)…..and I am the only one that has a MAC computer so as with witch says….."I am dying"

I hope that you are having a great weekend ( I sure am) and I am spending the day with my SUPER FUN god-daughter….she is a total keeper to  me….(just like you are) and I am super excited to spend the day with her!

I am now at 2%…until tomorrow…hopefully!!!!

So simple yet oh, so sweet!

IMG_3712

Creating cards is fun…right? If it is not fun, than we get frustrated! I do not want you to be frustrated so today I am going to share with you a simple card using heat embossing.

This is a wham BAM card that can be whipped up in no time plus change the color of paper if you get bored and PRESTO – a while new look!

IMG_3718

It is super hard to see the color in it's "true" state with the pictures (sorry!!!!) but trust me – it really is pretty! I used old faithful, the note-card for the size of the card base and then the layers are in Soft Sky and Lost Lagoon….sooooo pretty together!

I blogged several weeks ago with the bordering blooms stamp set and you can see once again how simple and sweet it is! I am lovin' using the clear embossing powder to heat emboss – the effect it gives is just stunning and then I took my other old faithful….the white get pen and colored over some of the flowers….doesn't that make it pop!?!?!

IMG_3719

The hello was in the white embossing powder and then my signature "trio dots" did the trick! I still gets as exited to heat emboss as I did the very 1st time I learned that technique!

Using the All is Calm DSP to line the back flap was a cinch and this is where I had my color inspiration today! I often let my DSP for my liner to "guide the way" for the color scheme for the day!

IMG_3714

That's it – super fast, fun and oh so do-able! This would be a great gift to give someone, make up a dozen of these in different colors – using different DSP and WOW – you have one special gift to give!

Time is ticking on the great opportunity to get a pack of (your choice) of DSP for the next 6 months! If you take that test drive with Stampin' up! and me…you will earn the paper plus be able to get all of your Stampin' Up! goodies at a discount each and everytime you order! Please email me if you would like to chat!

IMG_3716

Enjoy your day and pop back tomorrow……something super practical and fun up my sleeve!
