Monday Birthday fun!

IMG_9636

Good Monday morning to everyone…I felt like a bear in hibernation as I slept…slept…slept! It is wonderful to be with my beautiful daughter and as she just said to me as I am typing – "Mom, it feels us being together at a horse show…it's a slumber party"!

I scanned some of the comments and I want to tell you that I fell asleep before the plane took off and I woke up when it landed. Brian and I chatted and laughed up a storm before we boarded the plane (actually we were like little kids looking at You Tube Videos and laughing) but we were not sitting together so the fun ended and time for sleep!

At the end of the post, I will unveil who won the 25 swap cards and also who won the paper pumpkin kit and refill…I do adore the upcoming months and you simply cannot go wrong with it being 1/2 right now! Lets get to the card!

IMG_9641

I must say, it feels great to be blogging a card that I created! This I did just before I left and I think it is a "keeper" – You know when I say that…I mean I really like it!

What is not to love with this stamp set Watercolor Words, it is so fresh and fun…and it allows you to use so many different color combinations to play with but today we are playing with the classics….Black & White with a POP of color = Cucumber Crush.

IMG_9633

Here are a couple of quick thoughts of why I think that this card is a keeper!

  • Love the odd size, it is 3 1/2" X 7"
  • Love the clean and classic color combos….(so easy not to have to think….black – white – POP!)
  • Love the fact that I can let the heart dsp be the impact of the card
  • Love the sentiment, what is not to love with this fun and fresh font
  • Love the POP of cucumber crush!
  • Love the heart I punched out with the itty bitty accents punch and then used the Epoxy sticker right over top to make it have a touch of "fun bling"
  • Love the fact that you can take a simple piece of paper….flag it with the Triple Banner Punch…add some white dots and quick, easy – DONE!

IMG_9634

I only had a 6" wide piece of DSP left so I needed "plan B" to pop in to add pizzazz to the back flap of the envelope that I made with the envelope punch board! I just added a "snip" of black to help me cover up !

Just think of all of the different DSP's we have to make a fun card like this – truly the sky is the limit! I encourage you to have fun, give it a try…I know that you cannot go wrong!

Now to the fun part….WOOT-WOOT – who won the 25 cards! I learned a lot from scanning through your comments! I adored you responses and to me it is clear that we need to work on sympathy cards and watercoloring….these seemed to be a challenge for many!

And the winner is……Christine T.

(please email me your address and I will send you 25 swap cards!)

Now to the next winner of the May Paper Pumpkin and refill…..I am very happy that many of you took advantage of the 1/2 off offer! Remember, it is available for a while so please give it a try!

WOOT-WOOT to Stephanie W from Wisconsin! She WON!

Thanks Stephanie and welcome to the fun orange box club – I know that you will love the upcoming offerings and if it is not for you…..simple – you can stop at anytime!

Tomorrow is COMPUTER DAY for Susan (Hannah works all day so I will be at the hotel)….I have sooooooo much to catch up with so hang tight if you have emailed me – I will be going through all of the things I have been missing etc…

Until tomorrow!

Easy as 1-2-3!

IMG_9606

Good Morning and here is another card from that fantastic stamp set, Heartfelt Sympathy. Do you remember last month when we did that fun poll of favorite stamp sets and this one was not on the list but many of you said that it should have been on there and guess what – YOU ARE RIGHT!

138764G

This is the 2nd time I have blogged about this stamp set before and you can click here to see that post! I am using both of these cards for swaps at convention. I think that we do not show enough options for sympathy and this set is just fabulous!

It truly is as easy as 1-2-3! Here you go with the scoop!

IMG_9608

  • Card base is Old Olive
  • The adorable print paper (1 1/2" X 5 1/2") is from the Pretty Petals Stack – (I adore the 6" x 6" size and the fun and fresh prints) Because you get (4) sheets of each print, think about it…you could make up 16 of these cards and then use another coordinating paper to line the envelopes if you wish!
  • The pacific blue is 2" X 4" and then the sentiment piece is a smidge smaller stamped in Old Olive

IMG_9614

  • I took (4) strands of bakers twine and made a simple bow ( I think adding extra pieces really does make a fun effect.
  • The envelope line was the reverse of this print….it truly makes a great card!

IMG_9610

See how easy this is…you can do it – right? This is a card right up my alley as it is fast but it is still super fun and sweet and we both know that whomever gets this card will feel the warmth and love from this beautiful sentiment.

You know how easy this is…you can click that SHOP NOW button or click on the image in the below scrolling store! This is a total keeper and I think you can see how great it is from the (2) posts I have done showcasing this!

IMG_9615

You know what today is….DEAL DAY! Please click here to see the offerings this week. Remember, not all items will be available all week as there are limited quantities on some of the items…so if you see something that "you just cannot resist", I say go for it!

It is hard to believe that tomorrow I will be in Salt Lake. I am so excited but also a bit apprehensive with being on my wheeler by myself. I know that once I get there I will be "good to go" being with the Pals! (It is a great thing that I have a non stop flight)

IMG_9617

I am going to share with you tomorrow if I had a magic ball, things that I wish Stampin' Up! would unveil with the new upcoming holiday catalog (It will be fun if any of my wishes come true)

Please feel free to email me…and I hope that this post shows you that a cute card does not need to be hard!

Until tomorrow…..

Fun, Fast & Yummy!

IMG_9591

Here is a super short post for you that carries a big punch…when I say that – it is little things like this that make me smile and I just love making treats like this up!

The other thing that I adore about projects like this is YOU CAN USE UP YOUR SCRAPS! This always makes all of us smile!

This is a yummy piece of chocolate wrapped and fru-fru'ed with love! I made a bunch of these to take to convention.

IMG_9601

Here you go with how to make them….pull out your paper….find the little  pieces of scrap ribbon you have and have fun! I have used the "Num-Num" Stamp Set but really you can use a variety of stamps!

  • Piece of paper 2" X 7"
  • Take piece to Simply Scored and score it as shown in below picture (I do find the "markers" when making a bunch as you do not have to think!!!!)

IMG_9588

  • Use the tag topper punch of your choice and punch the ends…scored/fold…
  • Stamp a sentiment on a piece of scraps and use a punch to pop it out! I love the Tag Topper Punch for this project.
  • Use the Itty Bitty Accents  Punches to add the perfect touch and the glue dots work great to adhere.
  • Tie a fun piece of ribbon to close.

DONE….now go give these away and make someone smile!

IMG_9589

I hope that you go to the store…get some yummies and whip some of these up! You can use them for so many occasions. I shared with you that I am taking them to convention but these would be great for co-workers, bridge club, holidays….the ideas are endless!

Thanks for everyones kind words of kindness to us. We had another great day at home and I will leave you with another "Eddie" picture that will make you smile!

IMG_9592

Until tomorrow!

Quick, fun & done!

IMG_9281

We all need birthday cards to send so here is a super quick and easy Birthday Card that you can whip up using minimal product and the best thing is – it comes as a BUNDLE!!! The stamp set is super fun and filled with some great sentiments!

134090G

This is another swap card for convention (I like to have several different themes) so each day this week I will share with you swap cards and then when I get back from convention – I will have LOTS to share with you!

The base is a note-card and using the Cherry on Top DSP Stack makes this a fast and very duplicable card as it has (4) sheets of each pattern!

138443G

Let's get to it…this will be super quick as you know what today is – TUESDAY – which means weekly deals! You can click here to see the offerings this week and make sure that you do not wait for certain items as they are limited to the quantities that Stampin' Up! is offering.

IMG_9282

Look how silly simple this is…(2) pieces of fun paper….stamp the sentiment in Bermuda Bay….pop another one out in the coordinating color of watermelon wonder….stamp the stamp again in another coordinating color, Hello honey…..cut – adhere – DONE!

IMG_9285

You could easily eliminate stamping the 2nd time but I think that this adds a cute touch. The great thing is that it is a cinch to cut out, not detailed at all. (remember, its those little extra special touches that make a difference)

IMG_9283

Lining the outside of the envelope is also festive and fun and with the size of this paper, you can line (2) envelopes from a sheet of paper…and actually if you line it like this and use the note card size….you will have some extra that you could use a punch to use up the paper!

IMG_9287 (1)

While you are checking the weekly deals this week…make sure that you pop into the clearance rack – (hopefully some new goodies might be in there)!

Thanks for popping by, please do not forget to share my blog with your family and friends….I love new subscribers and you know we always are having fun! You can click on the button on the right and never miss a post.

See you tomorrow!

Just buzzing’

IMG_8773

To say "hello"

This is a super sweet card that can be changed up with "thanks" with using the new "greetings thinlits" I am just "head over heels" for these type of script fonts as I think they always add a great flair.

Before we get to the card….I had a great time reading your comments yesterday and I added mine….I love the interactivity we have….there are some amazing stampers out there!

You could whip up these gems in no time at all and just leave off the sentiment and then when you need a super cute card…pull out the "thanks" or "hello" and you are good to go and will most definitely bring a smile to someones face! This is my kind of card!

138275G

Here are the dimensions and I do hope that you make this card. As I was grouping together the products that I used today…and take a look – it is all about the basics….(big shot, paper, punches, embossing folders, thinlits, silicone mat, green glue)…you see, you simply cannot go wrong with the basics!

  • The Card is the Notecard and Envelopes (love them – (20) for just $6.00)
  • The Hello Honey is 3 1/4" X 4 3/4"

IMG_8771

  • The Whisper White is 3 1/8" X 4 5/8" and then run through the Big Shot with the New Brick Wall Embossing Folder
  • Use the 1" punch and punch out a "bee" from the English Garden DSP paper

138440G

  • Use the 1 1/4" punch to Pop out a Hello Honey Circle (use the inside of the mat)
  • Take the Hello Honey pen and add dots all around the edges and then add a dimensions to the back to POP it up!

IMG_8776

  • Take a piece of Soft Suede Scraps and cut out the "hello" framelit…

Let's put this together….it is a quick one!

  • Green Glue is your friend and also the silicone mat….(another must have tool), go ahead and lightly put green glue on the "hello" and let it "set up" for a couple of minutes so if you did get too much, it will set up!
  • Green Glue the White Brick piece to the Hello Honey and then glue this down! Lastly, glue the POPPED up bee. Now you can place the "hello" on the front of the card….so darn cute!

IMG_8782

  • Not so fast…the envelope – from 1 sheet of DSP you can do 12 envelopes…the size to cut is 6" wide X 2"….glue it down and then trim off the access.

There you go my friends….a GREAT CARD RECIPE and you can see that it is all about using the basics! When you are building up your inventory please make sure that you have the basics….the fru-fru stuff can wait. True it's fun, but the basics will get you to where you want to "bee"! (ha-ha)

IMG_8792

I know that you all are tired of hearing about the 2 FREE Stamp Sets (of your choice) with the $99.00 starter kit. I know that there are sooo many of you that easily spend more than $99.00 with me and I just feel so bad not offering this to you….

I also realize that you are also Hobbiest, just LOVIN' having time to get your products and have "me time" – You can easily have all of that…I just hate to see you miss a sale…as this is exactly what you should look at it as.

If I said, everything is 25% off – YOU ALL WOULD HOP ON IT…..think of it the same way, this is just an opportunity for you to take advantage of a sale. I know that there are many items that you do not have…but this IS the best time to make sure your basics are covered….

A couple of weeks ago… my wonderful upline, Mary Fish hosted a Virtual Opportunity Night and it was open to everyone and anyone….it was an evening of fun, prizes and lots of information to questions that we are scared to ask….but the questions were asked…and the answers were given!

720a8b8741ae2280eb0ac89b4ed42e82

Grab yourself a cup of coffee and click here and view the fabulous video that Mary put together.(you do have to put your name and email in for the meeting video to start, but no worries – no one will know that you watched it or contact you)

I would love for you to be a part of this fun with me and if you are just the "lurker" – that's great as well. Mary does a fabulous job with touching on what the PALS are all about…I joined with Mary as I adored her style and the no pressure style of Stampin' Up! The PALS are the best, full of support, inspiration and positiveness!

You know I Stampin' Up! and I would love for you to be able to take advantage of the sale. I think that many of you think that "you will lose me as a cyber friend" and that will never happen. If all you want it the 2 free stamps sets and the kit…that's great with me!

Please feel free to email me…or click here and say these words…I'M GONNA DO IT!

Until tomorrow….I think you are going to love and appreciate the 2 day post!

Reality Check…

IMG_8755

Did you see the date today….yep – it is June 25th and we know what that means…6 months from now it will be Christmas. I say YIKES…REALLY….WHAT HAPPENED…wowzers, time sure does fly! I thought it would be "fitting" to honor this milestone and I am sure that I am hearing lots of sighs…

This is my kind of card…simple and to the point! This would be a super easy card to "mass produce", something that many of us like to do with our Holiday Cards. I know that many of you like to make several cards and then make  multiples of them – this is one card that I would not forget about!

The DSP is from the Merry Moments DSP and from one piece of of DSP, you can make 12 cards as the width of the DSP is 2" -  and then matted a "smidge larger" in Old Olive. (Now don't forget use the inside of this paper to pop out punches etc…as you will be covering it up)

IMG_8759

I also used the new Heavy Weight Whisper White Cardstock….LOVE IT – once you use it, you will not go back. The other thing is that the "White's match"(so you can easily use our regular whisper white layered on top) I know that this sounds crazy but trust me…you can put 5 sheets of paper that are white from different sources and they all look a bit different.

I was THRILLED that Stampin' Up! carried over this fabulous stamp set, Festival of Trees and it also comes as a bundle which will save you an instant 15%. I caution you when you order, if you want the bundle…make sure that you get the right numbers. (I cannot tell you how many times I see a punch and then forget to look for the bundle number)

IMG_8760

The sentiment is from Sassy Salutations, and this is one of the very first stamp set I purchased when I was a customer. I have used it a ton and I still think the fun font today is as fabulous as I did back then, years ago! I call that a "keeper"!

I admit…I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig as how in the world would I have a crooked sentiment on such a clean and simple card!

IMG_8752

Here is a great tip to save your DSP…for the envelope fun I used a scrap of real red and than ran it through the Big Shot with the SUPER FUN large Polka Dot Embossing folder….remember, this is on the weekly deals.

I like to do this as it saves you money but it still provides you a WOW and a fun card. I use "green glue" to adhere the card stock to back flap and let it "set up" and then trim off the excess.

IMG_8758

Let's get some comments going…

  • If you make Holiday Cards….when do you start to make them?
  • Do you make all of your cards the same or make several different styles?
  • Do you like to "mass produce" making your cards?

Many thanks for your sweet comments about James coming home…he arrived safe and sound and Leo has not stopped hopping all over the place…he was used to living in the city so our 30 acres is heaven to him.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions and I hope to see you tomorrow….hopefully Jeanie will be coming over today or tomorrow so I can get to you her fun works of art!
