Step it up Sunday!

I FINALLY did respond to your comments about the “PRETTY STAMP”……it is from Fridays Post….I am on a mission….stay tuned! 😛

Thanks for the feedback on what Sale-A-Bration items “tickled your fancy” and it seemed like there were a BUNCH that really liked the  Hey Chick! That is a fun set and I promise to continue to showcase that one in FUN ways…. and we have a WINNER!!!! (fancy this…Laurie picked this)

Woot-Woot to Laurie and please email me with your address and I will send you the Hey Chick stamp set!

Below you will see where my inspiration came from….Stampin’ up! Every Tuesday we get updates and also a weekly “snap shot” of a product for the week…..(another great reason to get the ultimate bundle so you can get inspiration and ideas)….just sayin’ 🙂

You can clearly see how I CASED this card but it is not exactly like what they showed but I still think that it looks super cute! I truly wish that Stampin’ Up! had this as an offering for a kit to purchase because this is a great “gateway” into stamping!

We do have many great kits but I truly believe that there are many out there that simply do not think that they can make a great card….first…EVERYONE makes a great card – if YOU have taken the time…than it IS A GREAT CARD!

The extra fun came from the Swirly Bird Bundle. This was sooooo popular when it first came out and I would invite you to google and also go to Pinterest to look at all of the fun ideas that you can make with this bundle. (the best thing is……throw in a pack of dimensions and you can earn this super cute project!)

Here you can see them side by side again, I will say….when I get extra opportunities to pick a  FREEBIE – I am going to stash these away as I adore the ease of making them…the FUN of making them….and I know that who ever receives this note in the mail will be doing a happy dance because it is fun and unique!

I am excited to hear some feedback from you. I just LOVE our family of comments. Did you notice the centers of the flowers? I thought I better say what they are….they are called Dew Drops and I just love the look of them. Here is a link for you! Yep, call me the enabler but always know I am looking out for YOU!

I truly love what I do and I love helping you reach your goals! Can’t wait to see you right back here tomorrow….you will be in “stitches”

Simple Saturday…no clicking off!!!

Yesterday was just “one of those days” I wish that I could give you a funny about it….but not yesterday…..the great news is – today is a new and great day! 🙂 You know that I am a huge quote lover….I thought that you would like this one!

Good Morning and welcome back to the weekend editions that you all seem to love and enjoy! Now before you take a big sigh of disappointment that there is not this fun, unique…Susan card….I ask you to HANG IN THERE WITH ME…and PLEASE do not click me off! (I would miss you plus you would miss the opportunity for BLOG CANDY) 😛

We all know that we are in the midst of Sale-A-Bration, (the sweetest time of the year) because of the freebies! Yep, when we hear that word FREE it is natural that we PERK UP and then naturally smile! So…..for every $50.00 you get to pick a FREEBIE and this FREEBIE that I am showing you today is over looked and I wanted to give it some love!

WHY? Well, I really like it. I hope that you click on the video above and watch how incredibly easy it is to put together…There is NO stamping as the sentiments were pre-printed on a sticker for you to place.

Now many of you might way – why would I or you at that matter like this? Are you ready for my answer? It is cute. It is easy. It is a lifesaver when that “TIME” thing happens to us.

Because the cards have the printed polka dots, I decided to continue the fun with the envelope! A simple tough that make you smile, the recipient smile and even the mail man.

I know that tomorrow….you are going to love the changes I made. You know me well enough – I love to share, show and teach you in how to do something simple to change the WHOLE look and feel!

To me, it’s a fun game to play and one that we all can do! Now for some blog candy…..tell me what is your favorite SAB item and why? I will randomly pick a comment and I will send you that goodie…..I can’t wait to hear your responses!

Happy Birthday Uncle George!

You asked for some Masculine Cards and you are in luck because Uncle George is turning 88! I am saying right now…I really like this card and I will use this layout again…with different colors as it is a classic! I know..I know, I could have left off the bow but I just could not resist ~ I think it makes it festive!

I took the lead from the catalog and I am tellin’ ya….USE THE GREAT EXAMPLES in the catalog for inspiration! Not only are they fabulous ideas but the photography is over the top!

Along the way…I made some changes. Why do I show you the below picture? I do it because it happens to me…just like it happens to you. There was NO WAY that I would “scrap” this card and I hope that this shows you that you can make changes to have it be the vision that you wanted!

I used the grid Paper to help me stamp as evenly as I good. I think that we forget to chat about the grid paper as this is a MUST HAVE and you will use it forever. I bet that I have had the same pack for 3 years and I will say that it is not only super handy but I like the ability to stamp on the paper before I go to my project.

Here is where I made some changes….I guess that it is not fair to say that it was a boo-boo….it was more of a personal preference and I am glad that I “covered up” some of the “It’s Your Day”….I know that you can see it (if you look close) but I can say – it does not stick out like a sore thumb!

Sometimes you need to think of your paper and embellishments as make-up – they are great cover ups! 😉

Last week I blogged with this stamp set and I loved it last week and I am lovin’ it again this week….(hmmmmm – I think I will use it next week to see if we can get Tick -Tack-Toe – 3 in a row of winners!) I am still on the fence about the “pretty one” so if someone can explain that to me, I would appreciate it….I know – I am a little slow out of the gate I guess.

You know that the Urban Underground is one of my favorites and it looks like there are a bunch of layers but there are not…..I hope that I can explain….let’s call it a work in progress and this was the end result!

  • I started with a 4″ X 4″ Very Vanilla
  • I added a 1 1/2″ wide strip of the DSP…(did you notice that I colored in some of the circles – LOVED that touch!)
  • I then stamped all of the sentiments
  • I added a 1/4″ strip of Dijon and then a sliver 1/8″ strip of Dapper Denim right next to the DSP…..this is where it appears that I “built” it up but I really did not.
  • After I did all of this fun, I matted the whole thing to a 4 1/8″ square to peek the blue !!!!

By “bumping the thin pieces together against the edge of the circle DSP, It allows the visual of layering but in reality it is just green glues to the vanilla piece! Make sense???? 😕

Here is another look at the different angle of this handsome card. That font of the Happy Birthday is just wonderful! It makes such a statement. Another tip that I wanted to share….I often am asked about making the “flagged ends” to the banner. I did not use a framelit …..I simply take scissors to the center and then do the other angle.

I am sure that they are not perfectly balanced but remember about what we do….

We are HANDMADE, not HALLMARK! 🙂

Here is your picture to PIN AWAY! You can see that I made my own envelope to fit this square card. They are some of my favorites to make and I realize that the postage is a more…but Uncle George is soooooooo worth it. I know that he will enjoy it and display it proudly

Well…thoughts???? I sure do hope that this has inspired you as you will see it again with a different look. This is a perfect example of “you can’t go wrong with the classics”

With the great incentive with the Ultimate Bundle, the starter kit that you customize and it is sooooo simple – you save money…you get to pick and 2 stamps sets on top of the bundle and it ships for free….a win-win all the way around! I would definitely have this in my Ultimate Bundle….

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions about the card and also about getting the Ultimate Bundle. If you join with me during Sale-a-bration, I will let you pick (2) SAB items (as they are not in the bundle deal, this is a personal promotion from me) 🙂

Guess what is back  – SIMPLE SATURDAY…..and let me tell you, it is sooooo easy!

p.s. – I LOVED your comments yesterday, all was quiet on Randall Lane yesterday, I guess the biggest thing that happened that was funny was that it was super (weirdly) warm and I watched poor Daisy just walking around looking for a friend to play with ~ well honestly just to acknowledge her and she struck zero.

It is a long walk for those little stump legs to go from the barn to the house and back~ finally I saw her in the field with Arnold. I was happy, she found a friend but the sad part is…he is the one that is almost blind that needs the donkey (I wouldn’t darn tell Daisy that)…life was great!

A Valentine “cutie”

Good Morning! Do you ever stop and think of all of the crazy things that can happen in one day? Well, yesterday was one of those kinda days and I was so excited to go to bed and have a new day begin!

I cannot even begin to tell you all of the things that happened….but here are some lights that all happened before 10 a.m.

  • The donkey got loose and was running all around and Arnold was having a fit because that dumb donkey is his seeing eye buddy…..
  • the Fed X Truck FLEW down our lane and I was flapping my hands for him to slow down….and then he said to me…..“Do you know your donkey is loose”? I felt like saying REALLY…. 😳
  • Next….about 30 minutes later the UPS Truck came and one of the Jack Russells hopped in his truck after he shut the back door of the truck and then yep……about 10 minutes after he left….down comes the truck and out the door came Jack! What could I do but LAUGH!!!!

(At the end of the post…I will share with you the TRUMP CARD of the day and you will then see….why I was excited to go to bed last night!)

Let’s get to this super cute box that can be made in a JIF! It is cute and I just love the little heart card I added as a note 🙂

I came in the house and decided to try to be productive and made this adorable and oh so easy White Gift Box! I love the ease of it and I cut (4) 2 3/4″  squares from the great Valentines Paper, Sending Love DSP Pack. I will say that there are other prints in this pack that go beyond Valentines.

I took a piece of scrap Real Red and folded it over to make a heart card. Using the framelit (as shown) – I left a little bit of the framlit above the red so it could asked as a hinge. Have you ever tried this? It is fun and then I used a smaller heart in white for the inside!

Can you see the sentiment? It is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set….(LOVE THAT SET) – it is truly an old one but a GREAT one. I stamped it in Versamark and heat embossed it with white! A simple white bow was the perfect finishing touch!

How about that Blog Hop yesterday? I hope that you all were inspired. I am always in awe of all of the great talent that is out there – I just love this FUN thing that we do! It makes my heart happy when John says….“My wife shares kindness and makes people smile” We all should be so proud of ourselves by sharing our handmade works of art!

Now for the TRUMP CARD….I was away for the afternoon and came home to a broken water heater….one word – YUCK!!!!!

See you tomorrow…..never a dull moment on Randall Lane! 🙂

Pals Blog Hop ~ From the Heart…

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for January 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month our projects showcase themes that are “from the heart.” This includes any of the following themes… Valentine’s Day, Thinking of You, Get Well and/or Sympathy. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

YIPPEE~ SKIPPEE I am super happy for the 1st Blog Hop if the year for the PALS! This is always a fun day and you can be a leap frog and hop from one amazing blog to another! WOW ~ there is a ton of talent out there and be a sponge and soak it all up!

I was trying to think of a card that would be perfect blank (without a sentiment on the front) so when you need a card for all of the above themes…Valentine’s Day, Thinking of You, Get Well and/or Sympathy you have one ready to rumble and you can stamp the sentiment of your choice in the inside!

You just can’t go wrong with the classic and there is nothing more classic than a “heart” Below you can see that this is one special heart as the amount of detail is spectacular.

Having a card that is blank is super handy to have and I am a big believer that when you make one card….why not make many??? – just POUND THEM OUT and then you will always be prepared!

Here is a tip for you….I just love to share tips! I realize that this is a very detailed thinlit – that’s why it is so darn special but some might be looking at this and thinking “what a pain in the drain this must be to adhere” Well….NO – I feel like you have (2) choices.

  • Use a product called Stick It – click here as this is a super thin adhesive that you place your card stock over and then run it through the Big Shot like normal…….and then there is a release paper that is super easy to remove and POOF!!!!! You detailed die is ready for you to adhere.
  • The other option is to use good old fashion Green Glue, if you follow my blog…one of my motto’s is….GREEN GLUE to the rescue! 🙂

The pictures above and below will give you an insight of how I added just an extra step to make the finished card look super special (as heck, aren’t all cards that we send out special?”)

Those little (2) flowers that are in this set are a breeze to cut out ~ you are good to go with green glue or a mini glue dot

Sorry for the “wonky color” of these 2 pictures but I think that you can see how I scored the top and bottom of the card. I thought it needed a little something and this is a trick that I do often and it is very stunning when you hold the card in your hand. I do prefer the Simply Scored Board as I feel I can get a deeper score!

Now we are back to the good color (heck – I thought my eyes were bad) I love pictures like this below when you can see the side angle of the project. This is so classic and crisp in the Whisper White and I always love the additional layers of flowers…..it is the little oomph that take it to that “special level”

If you follow my blog you know that I adore my envelopes! I can honestly say that there is not one card that leaves Randall Lane without some sort of love. Today I carried the theme of the card by scoring a piece of Rose Red card stock that was 3/4″ wide and then below it added the Rose Red Flower Pattern from the Regals DSP Stack! The icing on the cake!

Well…what do you think? I think that it is one classic card that could easily “fit the bill” for each of these themes that we are HOPPING about today! Now you need to GET GOING and click on the next Blog listed below! Have fun and enjoy your day!

Tips for your Tuesday!

I bet that we will get a bunch of chatting going on today and I am excited to read your comments about today’s post. I know that there is always one thing that gets your attention ORGANIZATIONAL TIPS and IDEAS. It seems that we always like to learn, think about it, perhaps try it….or file it away in our brain for the future!

It is about being organized. (I can hear Chris R. from, Iowa right now taking a deep sigh) 🙂 Let’s face it, WE COLLECT STUFF...and I know YOU know what I mean…I can see you out there just thinking of all of the buttons, trinkets, sequins etc…WE HAVE THEM!

I am starting this post with this great quote that I have used before and then at the end I will share with you another….they are both “keepers” and they both will make you think and “take inventory” of your habits! 🙂

This gem I purchased from Amazon after watching a Jennifer McGuire video….At a glance you will think that there is no way that it will hold much but you will be soooooooo surprised! I purchased it on Amazon and here is the link. It is worth every penny as it has made me organize sooooo many little things that need a home in ONE PLACE!

I have a confession, I did have the spinning thing that Stampin’ Up! had (I looked in the catalog but could not find it – I think that it has been discontinued) but I can say the biggest issue I had with that was the height and it just did not fit my needs as I felt like there was wasted space. (Hopefully this makes sense)

Here is a picture of mine….I am a happy stamper. I had a date with all of the “little things” I have collected and decided the ones I wanted to keep….pulled out old faithful – the P-Touch Label Maker and BAM….all of my embellishments organized!

At this time of the year I seem to be a cleaning and organizing fool and I have been taking a good look at my work area and what works for me and what doesn’t! I discovered that I had a bunch of odds and ends and this storage method worked!

I have discovered that I have many…many little things that I just cannot seem to part with. I will say and I am proud of myself – when I went through things and said, “I have never used it…well chances are I will never use it” so – in a box it goes to give to someone that I thing would use it or I keep a box for Girls Inc. as they love to do crafts and I know that they are put to use!

Just think if you were going away for a weekend retreat or just to a friends house to scrap…this would be perfect to just pick up and go. I am tickled with it and I love the fact that this slides right in a drawer!

Now for the other quote for the day….this is an interesting one and I will say…it makes you think!

There you go…a tip for your Tuesday! I think that it is super fun to read and learn from what others do! If you have the chance, please leave us a comment! See you tomorrow….it’s a BLOG HOP DAY….YIPPEE!!!!

p.s.I admit, I am an AMAZON junkie. I adore the convenience of it mainly because it has EVERYTHING and I can order from my home. I will say that you might want to check on this product every so often because when I purchased it in December, I paid $19.99 and now I see that it is $26.00.

Do I think that it is worth $26.00 – ABSOLUTELY but I was surprised to see the difference. I usually do not pay that much attention to this when ordering from Amazon because they are amazing and I get my things sometimes the next day because there is a warehouse in Baltimore.
