Enjoy the evening….be safe and please keep my Dad in your prayers….we are happy with his care and tomorrow he will be having a pace maker put in!
Hugs to all of you….and trust me, you are my strength and inspiration to keep me going!
Hello and Happy Thursday! It is 3-D Thursday and today is is the super talented Sarah Wills turn to wow us with a fun 3-D project and I would say…..
She did and “ELF” of a good job!!
I’m sure that you are like me and smiling as it is just adorable and who doesn’t love a good old fashion Oreo Cookie! Do you have a favorite?… I am the classic gal of the Chocolate with the Double Stuff….but here is a fun fact for you…there are 32 different flavors of Oreos! Naturally I have to google it but YEP…check it out here for yourself!
I always think it is super fun to have a sweet project like this to pull out to make someone smile! And the best thing is…Sarah has provided for you the instructions as well as a template for you to recreate this yourself!
Sarah made hers with the Peppermint Bark Oreos….(that is a new one for me….and she found them at Target) Well….I will be on the HUNT for this flavor as it does sound yummy lending itself to the season!
Sarah’s Tip: to keep the filling of the cookies from marking the inside of your cello bag whilst you fill it, put your cookies into the freezer for about 15 minutes to firm up that filling and voila! They are much easier to stack in the bags!
I loved the fact that she did use Glimmer Paper but if you do not have that….you could easily substitute it with white and wouldn’t it be just adorable to put a big Jingle Bell on the tip of his shoe?
You guys know me by now…little projects like this are right up my Simple One-Way Alley as this would be easy to make and a guaranteed smile would be on anyones face! Heck, you could also add a Peppermint Stick to it as well.
Sara used the sentiment from the Takeout Treats Bundle…that is being retired but I would take a peek at this one as I think the variety of Occasions and the fun box are just too cute for words! If the framelit part is not for you….do not overlook this stamp set as you could easoly use a punch or snips to cut an image out!
I am sure that you have also felt the amazing love, compassion and simple sense of respect and peace that our Country has been having this week as we mourn the loss of George Bush!
The below picture just about did me in. You know how I feel about my animals and this sums it up! Animals teach us so much and they also love us so unconditionally. What a blessing it is that these trained animals can have the heart and dedication to help aid and protect someone in need.
Now go and download and print off Sarah’s AMAZING and OH SO CLEAR directions ( I soooo appreciate them) – then hop to the grocery store and get yourself some Oreos!
Here you go… ElfShoeTemplate…..have FUN and here is the FABULOUS directions for the entire project!
Good Morning and welcome to my first post with the 3 of the OH SO TALENTED ladies that are a part of the 3-D Thursday Post..Twila Davis, Debbie Henderson and Sarah Wills. I have a funny for you before we get into this post…you know me, I love to share stories with you!
If you are new to my blog….WELCOME and you will quickly learn that I love to craft (duh!!!), I love my peeps (they have all flown the nest), I love my animals (dogs, horses, a beautiful piggy, and a dumb donkey).…I have the sweetest husband in the world (John) and the thing that I like most of all about my blog is that I love to share my love of crafting and life with YOU and it is my goal to make sure that you understand every step and what makes me roll! OK….moving on!
Back in October I received an email from Sarah Wills and honestly I thought it was spam/junk mail…basically a huge joke. I did open it and she was asking me if I wanted to join these ladies with this Thursday FUN that they so graciously do each and every week! I immediately thought….this is a JOKE….me???? Simple me that loves 3-D’s but mine are about the most basic things that come down the pike!?!?
I admit, I did chuckle and when I responded I said….are you sure??? I know that we are all perhaps in the same boat of following other blogs…..and YEP – this Thursday 3-D group of talented gals I have followed and I have also made and shared with YOU some of their ideas!
Well….here you GO! I make these each year and each year I am always beings asked…..can you send me the dimensions of how to make a decorative check holder! Well…here you go! The most important thing to remember is…..there are NO RULES in how or what to use to decorate them however I think that these Snow Flakes are just stunning!
My main objective to decorating them for you this year was to show you how you could easily do a Masculine Twist to it buy having a “Search and Rescue” session with your DSP that you have hoarded away…..(I know that YOU ARE OUT THERE)….Well let me ease your pain in trying to think out of the box!
There are GREAT option with the Twinkle Twinkle DSP and also the Best Route DSP (this is really one of my favorites and I believe that it is (sooooooo overlooked). We all know that there are some handsome plaids in the Holiday offerings but for today I wanted to share with you how you probably already have something that will work!
The next thing that I wanted to showcase was this AMAZING and classic Snowflake from the Limited Edition Snowfall Thinlits – and TOMORROW IS YOUR LAST DAY to grab them as they will be retired. Click here to see a post that I did yesterday using them, There is just something so special about a snowflake!
Have fun scrolling through the pictures and at the end of the post you will see that there is a PDF for you to use for a reference. One thing I always share with you all is..when you see a project that interests you….I would STOP and make the time to make one up – that way you will get the feel of what you are reading and seeing with the pictures. You do not have to go through all of the fru-fru details of embellishing it…it is just to get a good and solid feel!
Here are a list of bullet points that I feel strongly about in having success with this project… (I know that you all probably already know all of this….but just in case)
- Use the Simply Scored Tool – I know that our trimmer has a scoring part to it but honestly you will see a deeper and cleaner score line with this tool. This goes in my “MUST HAVE BASIC TOOLS” for a card maker!
- Use a Bone Folder – Again, having the right tools makes all of the difference in the world. Using a bone folder will ensure a clean and crisp image.
- Use a super strong adhesive – In my opinion, I love the tear n tape for most 3 -D projects. I just think that it allows for a super strong hold!
- For adhering paper and embellishments….I still have a bunch of Fast Fuse and I do LOVE IT but I also highly recommend the mono glue (aka green glue). I am personally not a fan of our snail adhesive but I realize that many adore it….
- Do not make your “belly band” too tight…this is something that always seems to happen when you make your 1st one. I simply fold one side over and then repeat for a loose crease and then I remove it and give it a great score with the bone folder!
Any small punch will work, I just used the 1″ one!
You can see that you use a minimal amount of DSP….just try to be clean and tidy with lining up the pieces! Take the extra time to line things up is a great habit to get into for always walking away with a professional and classic look!
Here is the star of the show and it is SOOO darn tootin easy to make and it has a huge WOW factor! I wish that you could see it in person as it is quite a beauty!
I was tickled with the look of coloring in 2nd image (I cut it out of vellum) with the Stampin’ Blends! Naturally this is optional but it does make the layering interesting. I did use the Blend on the pearl as well!
As for adhering them….because I used some of the Sparkle Glimmer Paper….I did use several glu dots to hold them in place but have fun with dimensionals etc….remember, no rules…just use up what you have!
You can see on the one to the left I did heat emboss a sentiment from the Beautiful Blizzard Stamp Set. I know we all have many options that we could use but honestly most if the time I let the “fru-fru” from the front be the only adornment!
Here is a GREAT IDEA – if you have someone that love to travel…and/or if you are giving them a trip….WHAT FUN this paper is! I was super excited and also the bicycle print that is also in the Best Route DSP….that is another keeper to make for a project like this!
Remember…the sky is the limit with how you can have fun with these! This has been such a fun paper. A quick fussy cut of Santa did the tick! We all have a smile on our face when we see this sweet paper.
Well…there you go my friends! If you wish to subscribe to my blog…just put your email in the box! It is under my picture on the upper right hand side of my blog! Below you will see the PDF for you to print off if you wish.
Please do not hesitate to send me an email of you have any questions about the project! I would also love if you leave a comment and let me know how you like this project. I feel super blessed with a great group of “blog groupies” and we sure do love to yack back and forth!
Pop back tomorrow as I will have a great smile maker for you that is not only super easy….it is a project that you could whip up in no time and you will have a bunch of “new best friends” as they will LOVE IT!
Here are the the 3 talented ladies that graciously invited me to join this Thursday fun….please grab a cup of coffee and enjoy seeing their talent…I know your jaw will be dropping! It is just a blessing that this thing that we love to do with our hands…can take us all over our great country and develop friendships!

3-D Thursday Check Holder
HHD (Happy Hump Day) to you from beautiful Kiawah Island, South Carolina! I am having a wonderful time away with some amazing women and I just needed to sneak to give you a smile of a post!
I have a super FUN one for you today that will bring a smile to your face and also give you some inspiration to get ahead of the game with a clever way to give the gift that is always….so well received, a gift card…check or good old fashion cash!
We all know that everyone has their own likes and dislikes and a gift card is always a popular option for many so the recipient can pick what they want! Isn’t it amazing that you can get a gift card for just about anything!
I know that one thing that we all like to do is to find clever ways to give these little gift card of love and today I think that I have NAILED IT for you as this is so clean and simple and one that you can use for all times of the year…simple – just change up the sentiment and the paper….POOF – a fun card!
I am excited to add this design that I am sharing with you today to my ever growing ways to showcase a simple gift card, a check or cash! Let’s dive in…cause’ I am using something from the annual catalog that came out 2 years ago (using that STASH again!) and new bundle from the Holiday Catalog that is a sleeper in my simple eyes but honestly one that you simply cannot overlook as it is one of those “practical ones” that always perk me up for its versatility!
Look below, super cute…right!?!? We are working from the Nothing Sweeter Bundle and the Pocketful of Sunshine Stamp and matching framelits. I will share with you some tips and tricks that make this a fun and easy project to whip up! This would be one for the masses!
I know that you have hear many times that when you purchase a bundle you will save an instant 10% and there are times that I communicate to you that I just buy one piece of an offering but for this one….BUY THE BUNDLE as this is bundle is a keeper as it goes not only for the Holidays…but it will clearly work for Valentines Day and also Birthdays! You know….it is fun to think out of the box and I am excited to continue to bring you more posts using this bundle!
The other fun piece to this project is using the Pocketful of Sunshine Stamp Set and the matching framelits…..This is NOT priced as a bundle now (it used to be when it first came out)…. so here you can see that this is why it is the best bang for your buck to purchase bundles when Stampin’ Up! offers them.
This again is one that I would purchase the stamp set as well as the framelits as it is a very unique and super clever offering. I have a super important tip for you with these framelits!
This is just an A-2 card out of Thick Whisper White…..something I always do as I am a big fan of a solid card and then I paced a 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″ piece of Night of Navy to set the backdrop of todays card!
I am just MAD ABOUT PLAIDS and this gem came from the Holiday DSP from the Annual Catalog, Under the Mistletoe. I knew that the minute I saw this DSP offering it was going to be a favorite of mine and it still is…even after the debut of the Holiday. To me, there is nothing more fun and festive than a good and bold plaid.
Here are the TIPS I have for you….enjoy and please let me know how you like this!
- When you cute your plaid DSP…try to balance the white part on the far right and the far left….I know that this might not seem like a big deal to you but trust me, it balances the eye to make the overall plaid more pleasing.
- Here is one that might surprise you…..used VERSAMARK to stamp the stitches as I just love the tone on tone effect. There are time that I use the same color of ink to do the stamping but I honestly I usually prefer the versamark!
- Use tear and tape to the edges of pocket as this will give the strongest hold!
- Check out the stitches on the Christmas Tree….this an embossed stitch effect and peek again at the image of the framelits that there are also longer rig-rack image and a scalloped….this is just another reason that I adore this bundle!
- Now to the most important tip to using this Bundle….lining up the photopolymer pocket stamp to the framelits for a PERFECT match up each and every time! Watch this video that Mary Fish did as she NAILED IT for a simple and to the point way of lining it up!
- I did not want to do a stark white star….as I did it to be a bit more subtle so I put my thinking cap and POOF – the Twinkle Builder Punch and the “white” of the plaid was to me…..a great option!
OK….there you go and I hope that you enjoy! This is a smile maker for me and I hope that it sparked some interest to you! I will be back late on Friday (hopefully) and please remember to take full advantage of the DEAL that Stampin’ Up! has for us just until the 7th! CLICK HERE to grab a deal of the basics!
To start this post I am warning you…YOU ARE GOING TO SMILE…and if you are brave enough to read the entire post than you will just see how my SIMPLE MIND works as the way I roll is like a math problem so to SUM it up…we need to look at this equation….(School is in session!)
Monday’s FUN Post + Wednesday’s Shop your STASH Post = Today’s HAPPY DANCE
I am using MONDAYS POST (click here for refresher) and WEDNESDAY’S CONCEPT of Shopping your Stash (click here for a refresher) to show you how making fun, festive and SUPER CUTE projects does not have to be stressful or hard!
I am just THRILLED that you all enjoyed Will’s card and the post concept of SHOPPING YOUR STASH….and today I have done the same! I had already shared with you that I did not purchase any new Halloween specific stamps this year. Stampin’ Up! did not let me down with the Paper Pumpkin Kit as I had a hunch that it was going to be Halloween related therefore no reason to get another stamp!
This kind of project is a happy one indeed for me as I just LOVE making little things that make people smile and trust me stampers…this post of inspiration will make you do the “dance” and then you will get another feeling inside when you gift these to friends & family, co-workers, teachers….or ANYONE that needs a smile and trust me….we ALL could have a stash of these in our purse or in our car to give out…..as let’s face it…
Random acts of kindness are the best….
When someone makes you smile and when someone makes you feel that “you matter”….it sure does stick with you for a long, long time! Age simply does not matter with a project like this as everyones inner child and sweet tooth always love the attention! Even though these treats are not hug in value…they ARE HUGE for the recipient as they knew that YOU took the time to create it.
You know that I always talk about the BASICS as I am a FIRM BELIEVER that when we have the BASICS readily available to us, it makes the creating process a fun one each and every time! I have a bunch of pictures for you today and also some tips that will make the process even faster if you are making the super cute clear boxes with tags from the Paper Pumpkin Kit.
I check just before I typed this post and YES, the Paper Pumpkin FULL KIT and also the refills for this kit are STILL AVAILABLE. I am just thrilled with it and remember, I blogged about it on Monday so please refer there for more scoop. I just think that the sweet stamp set that is with this kit will get the job done for many, many Halloweens to come….it is super simple and super sweet!
Last thing before pictures and tips….we need to thank HERSHEY for making the Nuggets that I am using for this project so fun and festive! I usually always put a fun piece of DSP around the Nugget to jazz them up and make them pop but this year, they have done the work for you!
I bought a big bag of these from Sam’s Club and when I saw the colors of the wrappers and also the sweet and festive images on them I immediately thought – now these will save me a bunch of time…..Here is a funny….
When I came home and shared this with John he just smiled at me and then I looked at him with that “WHAT LOOK” and then he just laughed and said to me….I am so happy that you can get so easily amused by how HERSHEY wrapped their nuggets this year! HA….MEN – they just don’t get it!!!!
I am traveling a BUNCH in the Month of October, actually 3 times in 3 different time zones so I really needed to get a grip on my Halloween projects. One thing about me is…if there is dark chocolate out that I can get to…..IT IS GONE! I can let Milk Chocolate sit there naked in front of me (ha-ha….the wrapper off) but if that Dark Chocolate one is there….I’m DONE! I am proud to say that all of the Dark Chocolate is well wrapped in treats so it is away from temptation!
LET’S GO! The secret is to have the product on hand so when you want or need to make something….YOU HAVE IT and the scrambling around is not an issue. I ask you…
Why do we create stress in thinking we have to come up with something NEW each time we play with paper? As the saying goes…oldies are goodies!
Two of these examples I have blogged about for years…and guess what – I loved the concept/technique then and I still love them now! If it works for you ….ROLL WITH IT….but make sure that you are prepared! These clear tiny treat boxes are an item that is a keeper/basic and I would put them on your next order to have them when you need them. I often think we overlook simple packaging that Stampin’ Up! offers!
Just look at these….just adorable! Many of you purchased the DSP Product Share from me (thank you!)….therefore you have the Toil & Trouble DSP – all of these projects that I am showing you today can be used with paper from your share. In the below…I have used the same paper, just flipped it over so this IS the perfect time to SHOP YOUR STASH and see how you can add odds and ends of ribbon to make it festive!
My hunch is that we all have some sort of Fall/Halloween paper in our stash and if not….I say WAY TO GO as you have either just started with this addiction or you have a tremendous willpower!
All I did was use a combination of the DSP and then the adorable tag that was in the Paper Pumpkin!
Here are some tips….
- For the paper insert…simply take a 2″ X 8″ piece of DSP and score it at 2″, 4″ & 6″ and then simply place it in the clear box…fill with TREATS…etc…
- IF YOU ONLY HAVE A 6″ width of paper…NO WORRIES – just cut it to a 2″ X 6″ and score at 2″ & 4″ and then simply put a 2″ X 2″ piece on top!
- For the tag (these work PERFECTLY!) take the tag and score it at 1/2″ and then at 2 1/2″ as this is the perfect score to wrap neatly on your box. I did use tear and tape to hold it in place!
- SHOP YOUR STASH for ribbon…I know you have it…so LET’S USE IT!
Above is another example of the fun DSP with another look. I admit, I went SHELF SHOPPING and found the Labels to Love Stamp Set….NEVER USED (shame on me) and I ask myself why did I never use this gem??? You betcha that you will be seeing this one again…as just LOOK AT IT – it is filled with some super cute images!
It does have a coordinating punch and YEP…I would definitely add that to your stash as this is another thing that Stampin’ up! does very well…their punches! I am sure that even though I have not used this stamp set before today, I am sure that I have used this punch. To me, punches are a SPEED TOOL that are practical and also time saver.
Now to some super cute alternatives to the clear boxes…Below, on the left is 3 mini DARK Kit-Kat Bars that I had to figure out what to do with so I would stop eatting them and I think I accomplished it!
All I did was wrap a piece of fun paper around and then added a simple “knot’ of fun ribbon with the paper fru-fru’s! TOO darn stinkin’ cute! I stamped a simple BOO from that paper pumpkin kit and presto….another smile maker!
Here is the “aerial view” of the goodies….these paper fru-frus are so easy to make and they always add a bunch! In the below picture you will see is all I did was tale a wee sliver of paper…wrapped it around something thin (I used a handy paint brush) and then adhered it with a glue dot, another essential basic that needs to live with you!
I know that sometimes we get short of ribbon in specific colors so this little trick does the job. The adorable project on the right…that is an oldie but goodie and you can CLICK HERE to see that…..it still makes me smile!
To see the post that I made the origami super easy fold treat that is in one of the above pictures…you can CLICK HERE to see that.
I make these all of the time and they are another great one to do for many seasons. I used the Seasonal Chums Stamp…that really got a WORKOUT last year and I am THRILLED that it was carried over! You will see me showcase this on a future post that will be making you run to the grocery store for something….keep checking back – you will SMILE!
There you go….I do hope that I sparked your attention and I know that I have said this earlier this week…I would hit that PAW PRINT below and sign up for Paper Pumpkin….even if it is just for 1 month. This way you can get this sweet kit and YES, I would also get a refill as why not….for just $9.00 you will be set for Halloween for years!
You can cancel your Paper Pumpkin the very next month if you want ….that is the beauty of it if you are not one that likes this program. Do what makes you roll! I just know that these next couple of months are going to be like a huge Steam Train coming right at me…..Holiday after Holiday and if you are like me…you love to have those little “something…somethings” ready!
For me, this Halloween one did it for me! Many thanks for all of the fabulous comments about Will’s card….he loved it and YEP, I made him laugh and then he said….I still am not a fan of that pig of yours!!! He is feeling great and is getting more mobility in his elbow! Please feel free to leave a comment about these cute Halloween goodies…..we have such a fun community of positiveness, great ideas and giggles!
Let’s have a great weekend and I hope that even if the weather is icky where you are…that you are shining inside! My TO-DO list is huge today as I leave with the chickens in the morning….but first – me time at Yoga in a couple of hours!
Happy Monday….Happy New Week…can you believe that this is the LAST WEEK of the month! Yikes, the calendar is putting age on us! When I hear the word “September”…I think of kids going to school….and then I think of….here it comes….hang tight… as the next 3 Months will be the “trifecta” time of the year !!! Let the holidays roll!
Friday just simply did not happen but have no fear…I am here to sow you how you can make the perfect compliment to the Note Cards and Envelopes that I blogged about using the Abstract Impressions AMAZING Stamp Set! I really do love this little gem and yes, I did cave in and bought it as a bundle but honestly….if you like super clean designs, just get the stamp as it is one that you will use over and over….
I am going to share with you the colors that I used for the Note Cards when I stamped them. I had lots of comments and emails about that so keep reading as I will share!
Here is a great tip that I recommend that you do…PLAY and just have FUN with all different color combinations. I think that you will be amazed with how even just stamping off and also double stamping a color will give you a great effect if you do not have a bunch of ink colors!
I can remember a great little tip that a wonderful elderly man gave me when I was gardening one day just after I was married…..decades ago! 🙂 I was very young and did not know a thing about gardening and colors etc…This tip stuck with me stuck with me as I was trying to be a perfectionist.
Sweet little Mr. Kunkleman came over and said….looks like your having a hard time deciding what to plant? I said, yep….I just do not have the same amount and the color won’t match and be balanced. He sweetly and kindly looked at me and said…it really doesn’t matter because God loves and splashes all colors…everywhere with all sorts of textures and heights…just plant them and you will see how the mix beautifully and will pop with color!
Where does this go with stampin’? EASY…do not stress!!!
I admit, I think of him and this advice often when I get stressed out with finding the perfect colors when I stamp. When you really stop and think about it…it doesn’t matter, what matters is that you are having fun creating! Here is another thing that I often will say to myself – does it really matter???….my cards and the images I stamp and color are my own little imaginary world…the important part to always remember, is to have fun!
Here are the colors that I used for the above sweet notecards!
Remember….no rules – just have fun!
- Top left – The grass/stems are Granny Apple Green and Garden Green. The flowers Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape were both STAMPED OFF ONCE and then I stamped the color.
- Top right – The grass/stems are Mint Macaron and Tranquil Tide. The flowers Petal Pink (full strength) and Calypso Coral was STAMPED OFF ONCE and then I stamped the color.
- Bottom left – The grass/stems are Lemon Lime Twist and Pear Pizzazz. The flowers are Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay were both STAMPED OFF ONCE and then I stamped the color.
- Bottom right – The grass/stems are Granny Apple Green and Garden Green . The flowers Daffodil Delight STAMPED OFF ONCE and the stamped in the same color FULL STRENGTH.
Now I know what you are also going to want….the SCOOP on making the Box! I have blogged about this before and you can click here to see a more detailed post on the box….but below you will see quick bullet points that will give most of you the details that you really need.
If I were you….I would make a box today and then write the measurements and scoring scoop down. Trust me, you will make this over and over….another reason that a “formula concept” always works!
For the Box:
- Granny Apple Green Cardstock – 8″ X 11″
- Score on the 8″side (shorter) at 2″ & 6″ I do use and suggest the Simply Scored Tool….I always think that leave a deeper impression than the trimmer…again, it is a basic tool that we all need and will use!
- Turn Paper to the 11″ side (longer) and score at 4 1/2″ & 6 1/2″
- Fold In and use Bone Folder to give a great crease
- Cut in the scored lines
- Use Tear & Tape as shown and fold in sides
Decorating the box: (these below are correct – in one of the pictures I had them mixed up…!)
- The White piece on the front is 3″ X 3 3/4″ and then I did score some lines as I think this adds a bunch! You can see that I only stamped one grouping of flowers as on the notecards I did use 2 groupings for each notecard.
- The DSP on front is 2″ X 3 3/4″
- The DSP on back is 2 1/2″ X 3 3/4″ and remember to only put adhesive on 3 sides as this is just a pocket to put 12 stamps in! If you do not want to put any stamps on your project, simply leave the back plain. Sometimes I put DSP all around the box but really….it is not necessary – it looks great as it!
I want to chat about the envelopes! You know that on Wednesday I shared with you that I used the 6″ X 6″ DSP paper found in the Annual Catalog on page 191! I ADORE THESE PAPERS and I am just so happy that Stampin’ Up! decided to bring them back! I love them so much because they take the guess work out of having to find a perfect match with DSP to your project!
I know that many of you LOVE TO HOARD your DSP and trust me, I get that. I am offering these again on my PRODUCT SHARE that is going on right now – IT IS ADD ON #2 (yep, you still have time to place a share order) as these handy 6 X 6 sheets come in each and every color of our color collection and they are in fun polka dots and stylish stripes!
Scroll back up to the picture that has the notecard samples and you can see that I used the different stripes and polka dots on each of the samples! If you want to take advantage of these in the Product Share or any other shares for that matter…..please email me and put in the subject line HOLIDAY PRODUCT SHARE and I will reserve it for you!
For these envelope I simply cut the paper to 1 1/2″ X 6″ and then use a 1/4″ strip of cardstock. you can see above that there is a week pit of envelope showing! No worries, just trim the envelope a wee bit shorter!
This is kinda getting back to that thing that I say to you…..DO NOT STRESS….do not worry about perfection…..just do it and have fun! By cutting the paper this way, you can cover (4) envelope flaps per sheet of paper!!!! Another reason why I love these papers – I had many requests to offer these again in a share….so here you go – your chance to get each and every color and design!
I hope that this post has brought you inspiration and smiles and I also hope that it brings to you a gentle nudge to not be so hard on yourself. Trust me, this is something that I have to work on each and everyday as self care for myself is a SUPER HARD thing to do! I am definitely one that likes to give and give to others before doing something kind for myself!
This is one of those reasons why I love stamping so much….it gives me some “me time” and is truly a therapy for me…there is nothing like paper, ink, stamps…..
If you were to poll my peeps and ask them what is one of the all time “MOM things/quotes” that I have said to them OVER AND OVER as they were growing up and experiencing situations…growths….obstacles etc….it would probably be this…
“If there is no joy in the journey…than there is no joy at the journey’s end!”
I invite you to read this and then re-read it and then think about how true it is in many aspects of our lives! Let’s take stamping for example…I adore stamping…I adore creating….but if I came to a place that it was stressful, not fun, making me grumpy and resentful than I would do this – simply stop it…now this WILL NEVER happen with me as I adore expressing myself with handmade love.
I think that you get where I am going…we all have choices in life and let’s face it…it is so much easier and rewarding doing something that you get joy from than having to do something that stresses you….life is just to darn tootin’ short!
OK — enough of LIFE STUFF….I think you all know me well enough by now…I love what I do and I share with you through my blog snippets of who I am and what makes me roll! Speak of making me roll….this type of project makes me roll and it is something that I make often with all different stamps!
One last picture of this gem….I do not know about you but I adore these new Mr. Rogers Stamps that the Post Office has. I am a stamp hoarder (yep, I admit) and between these and the new Scooby Doo Stamps…..I am smiling! My sweet little Post Office often sells out of new stamps as they do not get a bunch in….so remember, check the USPS Website…they will have all stamps!
Well…there you go – inspiration… “how to’s” to make a perfect, useful and practical gift! Have a great day and remember that we are on the LAST WEEK to take advantage of the Bonus Days where you will get a $5.00 Coupon Code from Stampin’ Up! for every increment of $50.00 that you spend! You can use them in September and if I were you…..I would wait until the 5th – when the new holiday catalog goes live!
