“Blossom Party” to bring smiles….

IMG_1749

This is a fun, modern yet CAS (clean & simple) card that we will be making on Wednesday for the breast cancer monthly project I do! I know the volunteers are going to love making this as they get to heat emboss!

I can remember the 1st time I used this technique with  a card…I could hardly wait to come home and show my husband the card….I kept saying – "Isn't this super"…well, he did not get it as he thought….he thought I just had a shiny stamp… trying to relive my excitement of stamping….pouring the power over ….tapping if off and then the finale of using the heat tool….I lost him…he just didn't feel the excitement I was!

Well I still get just as excited now as I did then! I love purple and I forget about using it. These colors I think look fun together…Perfect Plum, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie!

I am just adoring the note card size and yep – once again this is what this card is….guess what???

Starting tomorrow, Sunday September 1st, this note card size will be coming out in Very Vanilla and guess what else….IN ALL OF OUR COLORS OF PAPER!!! Woot-Woot cause' tomorrow is the magical day that you can order the Envelope Punch!

Stay tuned to the end of this post for you to have the opportunity to win some Designer Series paper!

IMG_1755

The fun die cut flower is from the Blossom Party Originals Die…super cute and you have many different options! To save paper, I just simply cut paper into a 1 1/2" squares and actually I can cut 3 at a time! Just love my Big Shot!

Blossom Party Stampin' Up! Originals Die

The centers of the flowers were a pop of a punch front the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, a must have because you will use the little shapes here and there often! This card is another great way to use up scraps!

Making the Perfect Plum just 1/4" shorter on both sides creates a great base. Before adhering anything I stamped the sweet sentiment from the Polka Dot Pieces Stamp Set in the Versa Marker! Before you do this step, I highly recommend that you use the Embossing Buddy to rub back and forth over your paper to remove and residue on the paper to get a clean stamp and a sharp emboss!

Out come the tools….we just love out tools! The Heat Tool is a must when embossing….(nope – a hair dryer will not cut it!!!) After stampin I folded a piece of computer paper to catch the acsess and I sprinkled over the white embossing powder over the stamped, versa mark image! A tap…tap…tap to get off the "extras", it was time to have fun!

TIP ALERT: – Alway try to use a circular motion with the Heat Tool when you are embossing…why? – you do not want to skorch your paper!

Polka-Dot Pieces

Keeping with the theme of the "white"…I went back to my scrapbooking days and using the Uni-Ball Signo Gel Pen I did my famous  dash – dot – dash – dot….works like a charm!

The envelope was lined with the Regals Designer Series Paper, a must in my opinion – I go thru it like water and YOU will have the opportunity to win a FREE set of YOUR choice of the collections tomorrow!

IMG_1753

With this cute and fun sentiment – I thought the outside of the envelope needed some TLC….a quick stamp of the sentiment and then I sent on a search for the perfect flower….FOUND IT – the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set to the rescue! That teeny tiny flower does the perfect trick!

Summer Silhouettes Clear-Mount Stamp Set

That's it! I know that the volunteers are going to be happy to make this card…many time I have everything all cut and ready to go…they will love interacting with the tools!

Now to tomorrow's post….it is a very exciting time for Stampin' Up! and I hope you pop in! I am going to give you an opportunity to pick any of the Designer Series Paper Packs ( from the collections)or (2) of the Designer Series Papers ( pages 153 & 154) and it is all about the Envelope Punch!

What is the envelope punch? Well…in my opinion it is the best thing
that has come down the pike as it is not only very affordable…it will
make over 66 different sizes of envelopes and you can use any color or
design of paper you desire!!!!

Please make sure that you check back for tomorrows post and also I
will be offering this great incentive to those that orders an Envelope Punch from my
website
! You'll love it….you know that I would not let you down!

It's a holiday weekend and please be safe and have fun with what ever you are doing! Have a great day and….

Until tomorrow!

Super easy & Super cute Halloween goodie!

IMG_1740
With Hannah back at college, I was attempting to go through some items in her room that needed to find a "new home" and I found a book about Origami! I flipped through it and was amazed at how many things I could do with our paper and stamps!

Here is one that I learned and it is super cute! True…it's not too big but it certainly does the trick for a goodie for Halloween! From 1 sheet of 12 X 12 paper you can make 4 of these! You can add something elaborate or simple… like candy!!!!

For my children, I thought about putting 2 movies tickets…a gift card to go to dinner and 2 peppermint patties!!! I am going to make up a bunch more with just candy for Hannah's dorm and my son that is a Montessori Teacher in Boston…I will make some for his little goblins!

This post is a great reason why I should do videos…there are soooo many pictures below and it is so incredibly easy…..a 1 minute video would have done the trick! Have fun and feel free to email me if you have any questions! BOO!!! Too darn' tootin' cute!

IMG_1745
Here are the supplies I used for for this project…there is not many….so have fun!!!

Witches' Brew Designer Series Paper

Tags 4 You Clear-mount Stamp Set

Take a 12 X 12 sheet of paper and cut it into 6 X 6 pieces….this will allow you to make 4 of these!

IMG_1734
Fold Corner to Corner...use the bone folder to make a good, clean crease ***this is important*** to get the best results!

IMG_1735
Fold left side point over and across and again use the bone folder!

IMG_1736
Take the right point and fold over….use the bone folder!

IMG_1737
That's about it!!!! Now, take the Multipurpose Liquid Glue ( as I think it is the strongest and easiest to use) but be careful….a little goes a L O N G way! For just $3.95 – this is a bargain! Use the bone folder again!

IMG_1738
Simply fold the top flap down….use the bone folder….and the glue one more time!

This project is also a great way to use up scraps! Using the Black Staz On Ink with the Tags 4 You "Trick or Treat" Stamp a quick stamp and then a pop out with the Label Bracket Punch….BAM!!! I also popped out a mat with black paper to give it an extra POP of color!

IMG_1739

Another great thing about this stamp set and the punch is that it is available to but as a bundle! This means you will get an additional 15% off when you purchase both at the same time! Click here to see the bundle!

IMG_1747

I hope that you have found this post to be fun and inspires you to make some over the weekend! The best thing is you could make them up…..they lay flat until you bend them for the candy and you will be all ready for Halloween!

IMG_1741
This was a fun post to end the work week! I have been busy getting my cards, materials and ideas together for my monthly Breast Cancer Cards! I just love that evening with the volunteers!!!!

Let me know how you like this! I think it is sooooo ridiculously simple yet the outcome is great! Remember you can click here and order anytime of the day from your own home….even in your jammies!

Until tomorrow!

Happy Birthday Aunt Jean!

IMG_1716

I hope you are lucky enough to have an "Aunt Jean"! She is a one-of-a-kind person and definitely someone that I look up to, adore and totally admire!!! Today is her 86th birthday and if you were to see her and try to keep up with her, you would think she is 60!

Her wonderful husband, Uncle Ernie, passed away probably 7 years ago and she picked up the inner "spunk" she has and has continued to enjoy life and embraces everything that comes her way!

I feel super lucky that my 23 year old son lives in her town and tonight, he is taking his Great Aunt Jean out for dinner! Too darn sweet but the best thing is….they will have a blast together as she is so interesting, "with it", has a smart phone….uses a computer…nothing stops her from learning!

Here is the sweet card I made for her! Anyone would love to receive this card….appropriate for any age – it is just one of those cards that it a simple "keeper"

IMG_1715

The card size is from the Note Cards and Envelopes! This is such a sweet size and the perfect size to let someone know you are thinking of them! Remember, there are 20 cards and 20 envelopes for just $5.95 – that is less than 30 cents a piece for both!

The Cupcake Punch is the star of the card! Just let your imagination go with the color scheme you want to do! This is from the Subtles Designer Series Paper and I wanted to focus on the Pear Pizzazz color and the Chocolate Chip!

Cupcake Punch

To create the "sprinkles" on the cupcake I simply used the Uni-Ball Signo Gel Pen…a bargain at $3.95 and the sweet little flower came from the Owl Punch (I use this little sweet heart all the time!!!)

Isn't this sentiment cute!?!? It came from the Best of Birthdays Stamp Set….remember, these are a limited edition in honor of Stampin' Ups! 25th anniversary…this is a keeper!!! I simply used the marker on the paint brush end to color just the sentiment part and then used old faithful, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get my placement perfect!

Best Of Birthdays Clear-Mount Stamp Set

Before adhering the Pear Pizzazz layer on the Chocolate Chip, I took a piece of the White 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon and did a quick "Susan knot" to add some bling! Out of all of our ribbons, this one would be the easiest one to make a bow with…it is a dream to work with and I wish it can out in all colors!!!

IMG_1717

After lining the outside of the envelope with the designer series paper, I felt the mailman needed to smile so I stamped the "celebrate" across the bottom of the envelope! So easy…..just make a faint pencil line in the middle…..Stamp-A-Ma-Jig…..stamp….DONE!!!

IMG_1709

Who's your cupcake? To me, cupcakes are like balloons and polka dots…they make me smile! I remember when I was a little girl I loved when my Mom made cupcakes…WOW – what a treat that was and now…Cupcakes are the rage!!!

It doesn't get any simpler than this and it doesn't get any cuter either! Pull out your supplies and whip some of these gems up….just in case you need a quick card! It is a great way to use up scraps as well!

If you do not have these supplies….I can help you – click here and BAM…you can order away and they will come to your door and then you will smile and get nothing else done that day because you will be creating "Arts from YOUR heart!!!!"

Thanks for popping by and until tomorrow!!!!

“Halloween Happiness” that will make you smile!

IMG_1690
There is no doubt that you are smiling because this super sweet Halloween Stamp is just too darn cute! The minute I saw it in the new catalog…it was a "done deal" It is just one sweet stamp and the price is "sweet" as well!

The stamp is only available in wood mount and it it appropriately called, Halloween Happiness! I usually buy clear stamps when available as I prefer the small storage space it takes but I have a question for you?

Do you think there is a difference in the quality in the "stamp image" between a wood mount and a clear mount? Let gets some comments going about your thoughts!

Halloween Happiness Wood-mount Stamp

I know that I have heard that some people think that the wood mount create a crisper stamp image but I think once you get comfortable with the clear mounting blocks…they work great! Storage to me is key…but there are some stamps (not many) that Stampin' Up! just sells in the wood mount…this is one of them!

TIP ALERT: speaking of the clear mounting blocks…KEEP THEM CLEAN! I wash mine (not as often as I should) in dawn detergent and once they are squeaky clean – they stick GREAT! Whenever I find that I am not getting a good grip, it is because they need cleaned!

This cute card will be a Breast Cancer Card in October…I think it is a sweet …quick… pick-me-up kinda card that will be well received! Another great thing about this card is…it is very affordable to make!

The envelopes are the Crumb Cake Note Card size and you get 40 of them for just $5.50….working out to about 14 cents per envelope and the card base would be about 15 cents…and then the other colors I used were Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive!

IMG_1686

A CAS (clean & simple) card like this is a GREAT way to use up scraps! If you were just making 1 or 2 of this card, I would venture to say that you would not have to cut a sheet of paper and if you were making a bunch of them…wow – you would get many from one sheet of each of these colors! Super cute and fun!

I used my markers to color the image but being the"type A" stamper that I am….I did not get a good crisp orange ( guess I did not huff enough) so I thought…what the heck  -  just stamp them up "good and hard" with the pumpkin pie and then cut them out….if the lower image is not super strong…no biggie! Stampin' Dimensionals to the rescue and BAM!

I thought that the outside of the envelope needed some TLC today! Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper was the perfect match….those dots just do something to you!!! Love…LOVE…LOVE!!!!

Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper

Going back to my Scrapbooking Days…."dots…dots…and more dots"!!! This drives my kids NUTS but I just love how adding 3 little dots does something special! I tell them that I think it makes me feel like an artist!!!

IMG_1688

Three things I cannot do….art -sing & sew! I have never mastered them and I do not seeing it happen in the near future!

A BIG shout out of thanks for all of the sweet comments about the look of my blog….my blog looks this way cause' Patsy Waggoner was my "knight in shining armor"!

IMG_1691

Now this is a BIG “Thanks”

IMG_1681
I am such a traditionalist and I must admit…when Stampin' Up! came out with the Photopolmer Stamps…I was like…"What the heck are these"!!! I bought the 1st one they came out with and I found it very frustrating trying to get the letters the way I wanted them…

Last week when I logged onto Stampin' Up! I saw this INCREDIBLE stamp that said "Thank You" (the one on this card) and I was doing the "happy dance"…I simply could not read quick enough to see if it was single stamp….if it was a new stamp set…and then when I found out it was a Photopolymer Stamp, I thought…I need to have this!

Can you say clean, simple, crisp, classic…just fun all the way around!

I just love this card! It will work with a standard A-2 card size but I wanted this to make a statement of WOW so I make a 5" square card! You all know by know that I adore odd shaped cards!

IMG_1677

The colors of Whisper White, Night of Navy and Gumball Green are so classic! I admit, I was a bit hesitant to see if the color would cover with such a dark color….and honestly – this was my 1st "go at it" worked like a charm with the 1st stamp!

One thing that I decided that I love about this style of stamps…you can see exactly where you are stamping as everything is clear! Storage is minimal as well…another added plus for many of us! Click here to watch a short video on the Photopolymer Stamps! I think that Stampin' Up will continue to come out with more!

Another Thank You Photopolymer Stamp Set

There is really not much to say about this card and how to make it…as you can see this is a super easy one! Before I used the Boho Blossom Punch, I took the Gumball Green scrap piece of paper and balled it up…rolled it around in my hands….before I punched it to soften up the paper's fibers to give the punch a softer look and feel! Then the classic pearl was all this flower needed!

IMG_1678

Using the Simply Scored Diagonal Scoring Plate made making a custom envelope a cinch! All I did was take a 8 1/2" square piece of paper and scored it at 3 7/8" on all sides and PRESTO!!!! The liner is from the In-Color Designer Series paper 2012-1014!

That's about it! It is soooo darn easy but the wow is soooo great! This stamp set is a keeper and also a bargain for all of these great sentiments!

IMG_1676

This has been a busy yet fulfilling week for me…you know I am computer challenged and that I struggle with this whole technology side…(I've got the designing cards and posting figured out) – it's just the technical things of the layout of the blog that gets me!

I thank you for noticing that my blog "look" has been updated and tweaked a bit! A HUGE shout out and THANKS to fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Patsy Waggoner, for helping me with this endeavor! Once again, a perfect example of the relationships you build with fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrators!

There is not a doubt in my mind that Patsy and I are going to be friends…and better yet – I look forward to meeting her and continuing to tell stories…laugh and learn together on this Stampin' Up! journey! Thank you Patsy for all of your hard work, time and patience with me!!! This card is for YOU , my way of a BIG thank you for your time, suggestions and professionalism you have given to me this week!

Please leave me a comment and let me know if you like this card as much as I do and also how you like my blog! Remember, you can subscribe right from the blog and also you can order your heart's desire 24 hours a day!

Thanks for your time in popping by, I am grateful and so honored to be your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, your cyber friend and hopefully your daily dose in inspiration!

Until tomorrow!

Flowers…fun and fresh!

IMG_1642

I was tickled with the end result of this card….and this is going to be a card that we will make for the Breast Cancer patients in September! The volunteers are going to love making these but the best thing is that the patients are going to have a HUGE smile when they receive the card!

A CAS (Clean and Simple) card….is all about me – and this is what this card represents! Using minimal supplies with a BANG of a result is the way to go…and this card is a card that can be mass produced in no time!

Many posts ago I showcased this gingham stamp, It is actually a wheel but I turned it into a stamp! Click here to see the previous post ….it's cute one!Why do I do this?

  • The Wheel Stamps are very affordable! This is on page #82 in the catalog and you can see that is is just $6.50! It is called Gingham and it's a keeper!
  • You all know I have yet to venture into the video world…but check on the super video that Mary Fish did showcasing how easy it is to transform the wheel into a stamp! One you see this – you'll understand why I love to do it!
  • I have been "missing" my crumb cake fix so today is the day to use this as my neutral! Your traditional A-2 card but I scored for a top fold…just a change up! Using a scrap piece of paper I stamped using the Whisper White Craft Stampin' Ink
  • CONFESSION TIME: – I am not a huge fan of this ink….I am sharing this with you as I am being totally honest – LOVE the effect it gives…but it is much "wetter" and you do need to allow time for it to dry…just be careful – I honestly it's me as I do not think I use it enough!
  • I just love using scraps and being able to stamp these flowers in Pacific Point from the Flower Shop Stamp Set, an "A list" set plus it is a snap being able to POP them out with the Pansy Punch!

Flower Shop

  • I added a bit of bling to the centers of the flower using some of the retired Bitty Buttons and then added a Neutral Candy Dot ( love these things)

Thoughts & Prayers Clear-Mount Stamp Set

  • The sentiment came from the Thoughts and Prayers Stamp Set, but did you notice something different with the sentiment? I covered the part "Please know I care" not because I did not like it….I just want the simple "Thinking of you" This is easy using a piece of sticky note and after you ink it up well….peel off the sticky strip and presto!

IMG_1645

  • A quick mat in both colors and then a quick stitch using the Uni-ball Signo Gel Pen…IS SUPER EASY to use and just adds that special touch!
  • I POPPED up the sentiment and also POPPED up 2 of the flowers with the stampin' dimensionals but I left the middle flower flat to give more interest! Cute card….right???

IMG_1646

IMG_1647

I know that my ladies are going to enjoy making these! They are super
cute and a card that you could switch out colors to make it look
totally different! There is nothing wrong with a basic card and making
some minor changes!!!

IMG_1649

School is starting in many areas…time for
us to take a deep breath from the summer but then time to think about
projects that you will be wanting to do….have you considered being a
hobbyist Stampin' Up Demonstrator to be able to "support your habit" – we all like a bargain and I sure would love to have you on my team!

Email me and
I would love to pick a time to talk! My upline, Mary Fish lives in
Arizona and I live in Maryland….so you can see that there is no need to feel that we need
to be next door neighbors! The cyber people I have met are amazing…and I always appreciate your feedback!

Until tomorrow…….
