Make it Monday!

Perfectly Wrapped Stampin' Up! Photopolymer Set, Layering Circle Framelits,Blosson Bunch,Susan Itell-stampinup

Good Morning and I know that you will all “get” and relate to what I am about to say…we need to have some “secret weapons” up our sleeves that we can whip up some cards in a jif and roll!

The next point I want to chat about it…..how is your washi tape doing?? Is it just sitting there??? – I know ~ I know, I have plenty of it as well but I will say that when I put it to use – I smile 🙂

The inspiration for this card came from a super talented SUP, Angie Juda. I do love her style and I often pop in to see what she is up to as she is like me….loves dogs and she also has a bird (which I think that is super fun) I have a pig, she has a bird and I think that we are both clean and simple stampers.

This is one of those card that looks so much better in person and it is also one that you can make in “mass amount’s” and it is just plain FUN to do! I whipped up a bunch of these to send to team members for a great quarter. I am just amazed at how often I reach for this stamp set….and I have yet to use it as it is intended to be used, in a kit (page 159) but on Wednesday….I am going to post about it (honestly, I am excited to play with it today)

There is not much to say other than tear the tape to your liking and then have fun with a adding a sentiment. I am lovin’ using the layering circles because of the scalloped ones and I think that the little dots around it, make it!

Stampin' Up! Perfectly Wrapperd Clean & Simple Card using the Pop of Pink Washi Tape, Layering Circles, Susan Itell-stampinup

Here is a tip…..If you would like to make this card…I say do it in steps…so all of the cutting, then do all of the stamping, cut all of the paper and then plop it in a container with your washi tape and a pen….Just put it together while watching the Olympics, watching a ball game etc…

You could whip up  a bunch in no time and then have them ready to use when you need them. I encourage you to try this method with a simple card and I know that you will be super happy to have one ready to go!

John and James went to play golf yesterday and I was going to shoot some videos only to have a neighbor that lives back behind use to hit a power line with a digger thing he had on his tractor…..OUT WENT our power for about 4 hours and when it came back on I read through the comments from the “Llama chatter” – and I ADORED THEM….

When I enjoy my coffee this morning, I will pop in and respond….it just brings such joy to read what you all write, we do have a special cyber thing going on……and I LOVE IT. I still pinch myself that I enjoy blogging so much but guess what – I enjoy out friendship and ideas MORE!

Sneak Peek Sunday!

Stampin' Up! Holiday 2016 Fa-la-la-la Friends Photopolymer Stamp,Fiesta Time Framelits,Warmth & Cheer DSP Stack,Susan Itell-stampinup

I am so happy that I made you smile yesterday with “Mr. Llama”...or is it Larry, Liam, Lawrence, LeRoy ?????? – I loved Chris R’s comments about naming him….well, I ask you…

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT THIS GUY?

Birthday Fiesta Bundle, Fa-la-la-la Friends Stampin' Up! Holiday, Susan Itell - stampinup

What is his name going to be? This must be a cousin as he has a different expression on his face and I must say, he seems quite proud of himself that he is all “decked out with lights“! This sneak peak is from the new upcoming catalog and it is called, Fa-la-la-la Friends – just adorable and even better, it is a photopolymer stamp set!

Today I stamped him with Black Archival Ink and then using the Aqua Painter, I gave his a super quick “go over” in Sahara Sand…super fast, super easy. On other pictures you will see that I added a bit of blushing bride to cheeks as well as the inside of his ears and then the lights, Real Red and Garden Green! I know that it is next to impossible for you to see but I did add Wink Of Stella to the light bulbs and it is just adorable in person.

You can see that the framelits that are in the below bundle work for the cousin today! SMART MOVE Stampin’ Up! and you just wait…I will have more fun with this one…you can bet that! I have the CUTEST IDEA in my pea-brained head…..only for it to work…..that will be later this month!

For those of you that order from me, you should receive your Holiday Catalog from be by the end of the week. Make sure when you see that envelope, you carve out some “me time” to take it all in!

Birthday Fiesta Bundle

Darn I wish that I could share with you all of the new paper like I usually do with DSP collections….but until then, you will just have to trust me that there are some keepers! This paper is from a 6″ X 6″ paper stack called Warmth & Cheer and I think that the name is sooooo darn tootin’ appropriate as there are some amazing plaids ( and you all know, I am MAD ABOUT PLAID) but there are also some great “traditional Christmas” prints that just bring “Warmth & Cheer” to you!

I did the same trick for the banner, it is really so simple….just cut out 2 of the framlits in what ever color you are working with and snip….green glue….DONE! This is a great effect and wouldn’t it be fun at different lengths on a vertical card like streamers for a celebration?

I hope that this 2 day post warmed your heart even if it is over 90 degrees in many places…Before we end…I want to chat about the cactus…in reading your comments I laughed and then I asked James and John….they laughed at me to and said, Llamas and cactus are not together….well you will love my answer and I am going to stand by it….

THE DARN CACTUS WAS ON THE STAMP SET….(and they look cute together)

Now go have a great day!!!! Thanks for sharing your time, coffee, thoughts and friendship!

Simple Saturday with a cutie!!!!

Birthday Fiesta Bundle Stampin' Up!, Festive Birthday DSP, Paper Piecing, Susan Itell - stampinup

O.k. – does this silly guy just make a smile come to your face! 🙂 There is just something about his expression that cracks me up! He looks like he just wants to say, HELLO – what’s your name….my name is Llama, Mr. Llama but you can just call me Llama!

I am super excited for this 2 day post for you all….but you need to pop back tomorrow to see something that will really make you smile….probably – BURST out laughing….so I warn you, no coffee in your mouth when you click on my blog tomorrow!

The ideas are ENDLESS for this simple card! Because this comes as a bundle it means 2 things:

  1. You will save an instant 10%
  2. It has framelits….so just crank Mr. Llama through Mr. Big Shot and PRESTO – he is a hunk!

Birthday Fiesta Bundle

Today I chose to use the DSP, Festive Birthday which actually is shown with this bundle on page 11in the Annual Catalog. The little bit of “paper piecing” I did was super simple. I stamped the blanket for Mr. Llama and then cut it out (the great thing is….the fringe is already on Llama so all you have to do is “green glue” the rectangle) and then for the festive banner, a simple snip in 2 areas to again, green glue down!

Festive Birthday DSP

Let’s chat about the sentiment! I am not a huge fan of inking up with markers the area that you want to stamp (but trust me, there are times that YOU JUST HAVE TO DO THAT) but for today I just masked off the words that I did not want expose….STAMPED…and then reversed it to get the next color. I find using a very “low tack” masking tape works great! (you can buy that in the painting section of Lowes/Home Depot etc…)

To give “Mr. Llama” some ground, a quick swish of the aqua painter and Sahara Sand is all that was needed – super fast, super easy…..super effective!

If you received this…You would first LOVE the festive envelope but then when you slid “Mr. Llama” out – you would cherish it! I think he looks quite handsome with his dapper envelope!

Thoughtful Branches…super cute!

Stampin' Up! Thoughtful Branches Bundle, Susan Itell - simplestampin.com

Here is to another week that ZOOMED by but I certainly hope that you do not let this sweet card ZOOM by without taking a good hard look at it! I think  that it is super sweet…and Lord knows the sentiment that I stamped tone on tone in the back is a keeper “You’re kindness makes a difference” – WOW…you know how I feel about kindness…..we all need to spread it!

Let’s have a chat about the stamping of this sentiment…CLICK HERE to see how I did it (actually with this same, wonderful stamp set) BUT I did it in Versamark…TODAY I did it in So Saffron…the same color as the card stock!

Do you remember I shared with you that it all depends on the paper? Well, I tried it first with the versamark and it just did not do it for me….then I tried it with the So Saffron, that did the trick in my eyes!

Below you will see the great image of this special limited edition bundle…and look close – can you see where I received my inspiration?

The inner “Picasso” tried to come out in me today and I did a quick…swish – swish in Soft Sky across the piece of Thick Whisper White (You can get by with this paper and the aqua painter….just double check as you go) and then I simlply let the great stamps from this set do the work!

In the final line up you will see the colors of ink that I used for this card….I bet that you already know that it is going to some special people that helped “my peep” before “Mother Hen” arrived last Friday! FAMILYFRIENDS(I hope that you can take a second and think and give thanks for those (2) F’s in your life – they are the best “secret weapon” we all have!)
